Where we work

Lake Coeur d'Alene, Pend Oreille, Priest Lake.

The North Idaho lakes are some of the cleanest water in the country. Boats here see less hard-water spotting than the Spokane River, but the high-elevation sun and longer time in the water through summer still wear gelcoat down. Three places we typically work.

/ Lake CDA

Coeur d'Alene Resort, Casco, Mica Bay

Slips at the CDA Resort marina, Blackwell Island, Casco Bay, and Mica Bay. We work the slip directly for boats kept in the water through the season. Above-the-waterline correction, masking around rub rails and rails.

/ Pend Oreille

Sandpoint, Garfield Bay, Hope

Sandpoint marina, Garfield Bay, Hope. Bigger boats, deeper water, longer drives between slips. We coordinate timing so the work fits the day.

/ Hayden & Priest

Hayden Lake, Priest Lake

Smaller, quieter lakes with mostly lake-home access. We work the boat at the dock or on the lift. Priest River storage and dry slips also covered.

North Idaho water & sun

Clean water, hard sun.
Different problem than Spokane.

Lake Coeur d'Alene and Lake Pend Oreille have soft, low-mineral water. You don't get the same hard water spotting we see across the Spokane River. What you do get is more direct UV. Long days from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Boats sitting in slips with the sun on the dark hull from dawn to evening.

For wakeboats and inboards that live on Lake CDA through summer — Mastercraft, Malibu, Centurion, Supreme — the sun and the constant on-off-water cycle is what wears the gelcoat. For lake-home boats on Hayden Lake or Priest Lake, the issue is more often algae and waterline staining from sitting at the dock for stretches.

For a slip-kept boat on Lake Coeur d'Alene, plan on a buff and wax every other season with a maintenance wax mid-summer. For a lake-home boat used most weekends, the same cadence usually works.

Buff & wax

The flagship. Compound, polish, and hand-applied marine wax. Most CDA boats need this every other season to keep the gloss. See process →

Oxidation removal

Multi-stage correction for chalky, faded gelcoat. Wet-sand if it's heavy, then compound, polish, and seal. More on oxidation →

Spring cleanup

Pull the cover, full exterior wash, topside wipe-down. Boat ready for the first weekend out of Coeur d'Alene Resort marina or your private dock without a full detail.

Maintenance wash

Recurring wash on a schedule. Keeps the hull looking right between bigger services. Most lake-home boats benefit from a maintenance wash every couple of weeks through summer.

How it goes in CDA

Three steps. Honest from the first message.

Step 01

Tell us the boat & the lake

Make, length, condition, and which lake or marina the boat lives on. A few photos help. Quick form or a text.

Step 02

Real quote, real date

A real number based on the boat. We'll tell you what's worth doing and what isn't. A day on the calendar that works around your time on the water.

Step 03

We work the boat at the dock

Hand-finished at the slip, lift, or dock. Progress photos along the way. Final walk in direct sun before we leave.
